Clinical Leadership & Management Review
SERVICES:
Internal Communications
BACKGROUND:
The Clinical Leadership & Management Review (CLMR) is a bimonthly,
peer-reviewed journal of Clinical Leadership & Management
Association, an international association of more than 5,000
clinical laboratory professionals. The purpose of CLMR is to
increase awareness among readers about the concepts and techniques
of management and the broad issues and trends in health care
that have an impact on the clinical laboratory.
CHALLENGE:
Oversee all editorial development and production of three issues
of the publication while the editor was on a leave of absence.
Duties included: soliciting authors to submit articles and columns
on agreed-upon topics; editing all manuscripts, conducting a
peer-review process of each submission, notifying authors of
acceptance or rejection of articles; providing content for an
editorial as well as “Books in Brief” and “Management Hotline”
sections of the publication; scheduling all articles for publication
with the publisher; and editing and coordinating author reviews
of all page proofs.
RESULTS:
Despite having no former experience in the health care clinical
lab arena, for nearly six months, M. NICHOLS took over all duties
associated with content development, editing and publication
of this journal, now in its 19th year. During this period, we
oversaw production of three issues of the publication, meeting
the publication’s editorial and scientific standards, as well
as deadlines and budget requirements. |
